Pretty Basic stuff, I could see where it would be REALLY usefull for beginner Coaches/Parents/Players! I actually bought 5 copies for my mens travel team, all expierenced players, and used it as a refresher for some of us who had been away from the game for multiple years. Easy read, and all great strategies!Would def recommend this book to any and all Roller Hockey players/coaches/parents to gain knowledge and perspective of the "Game Within the Game"!Only negative would be to have been longer, didn't want to be done reading it so fast! Could of gone into a little more detail on why/how some of his strategies work.

This was a great relaunch to a favorite character. The voice acting and production quality is top notch. Brian Blessed captures Gotrek perfectly and makes me want to hear more of him. The stories are each their own but a larger part of the reintroduction to Gotrek. I highly recommend this if you're looking for that little bit of Old World flavor that Age of Sigmar is missing. If they can keep the same writing style in future books and audio books it will be a great time for all.

Seriously, these are one of those moments like Beatles becoming a super group, or Michael Jackson's Thriller vid that plays ever halloween and will play till the end of time... YES its that good,.. doubts... Ok lets add this up, shall we? David Guymer's writing, Gotrek, and Brian Blessed... !!!!! You shouldn't be just sitting there but flailing about like mad to get into this like your life depends on it. Epic, Awesome, I cried, I laughed, and even threw popcorn about like some wild animal ! People, if you gone this far you just plain gone to far and haven't read a thing I've written! Realmslayer is the start of something magical and as a fan you will just know... EPIC is how you will describe this!! Make sure you have your ale in hand manlings as this is gonna be one heck of a ride!!!

This is my first entry to gotrek series which I will support for the rest of my life. Howcome this amazing character doesn't have it's own movie/games! I couldn't stop myself from finishing the audio drama in one day including the bio about the creators.Pros:1) excellent voice acting (one of the main reasons I sold my soul to this series only the oldest North Pole travler and badass Mount Everest slayer is worthy of this role "Brian Blessed")2) excellent production and sound effects work from the skaven voices till demons and monsters, well done!!!3) excellent plot and story3) I really appreciate the refrences from the old world (hope to explore the old world more as well as age of sigmar)Cons:1) I finished the audio drama wanting more2) couldn't picture/imagine the realm/action/setting without lorebook,artwork,etcRecommendations :1) Create a lorebook with artworks so we can read and better imagine the story events/characters/action such as the witch hunter handbook, liber chaotica, the loathsome ramen, darkness rising, grudgelore and the empire at war (I don't care how much it costs I will buy it)3) bring felix!!!! Keep the dark elf lady and create a journey gang like Warhammer:vermintideAnd most importantly:Release the next audio drama ASAP!!!

The voice acting is top notch, Brian Blessed, predictably, is great as Gotrek. It does take a while to adjust to Gotrek's voice being somewhat higher than other dawi, but the distinction is welcome.The story is well written but a bit too rich with references to the old days. Even though Gotrek's reactions mirrored those of my own when I looked into AoS, and admittedly I was smiling thru the first few callbacks, the sheer amount of name droppery and the present characters was too into the lines of fanservice.Now this last bit going to get spoilery, be warned.The ending, well, it looked like a blatant attempt to AoSify Gotrek. As if this story said "here old world fans, the old Gotrek one last time, he is ours now" Heh, and if they think she can replace Felix, they are sorely mistaken. I hope that last bit was forced because of runtime constrictions, if not, being cast aside and forgotten is far from what Felix Jaeger deserves.

This is an awesome audio drama weaving the old world to the mortal realms. A must listen to any Age of Sigmar fan that used to play Warhammer Fantasy.

I’m an American living in Kunming, China and recently purchased the Insight Guides for China and Southeast Asia. For the actual nuts and bolts of traveling, (e.g. addresses and phone numbers of lodgings, plus certain travel and adventure services) guides such as Lonely Planet may be more suitable. However, for photos and encyclopedic information on the countries and places one wants to know more about, the Insight Guides can’t be beat. Their very name says it all. They are packed with information on the history, culture, sociopolitical situation, and sights found in each country. If you really want to know what makes each place truly unique (through history, anthropology, geography, etc) you could probably do no better than the Insight Guides.

This story is one of my favorite tales from the Brothers Grimm. The story is skillfully re-told by Barbara Rogasky and beautifully illustrated by Trina Schart Hyman, one of my favorite illustrators. I used to read only the first half of the story to my third grade class before a field trip and promise them that I would read the second half at the end of the day if everyone behaved. Parents wanted to hear the ending as much as the children.

I am a fan of fairy tales. And I love to share my passion for a good story with my son. My 5 year-old loved this book from the first reading.It is not a short read for a 5 year-old, but it held his attention again and again. It is one of his favorites.I bought this book because I love the illustrations of Ms. Hyman. We have read "Bearskin" by Howard Pyle, "Little Red Ridinghood", and "The Fortune Teller", all illustrated by Ms. Hyman. Her colors are vibrant and exciting. It seems that every book Ms. Hyman is involved with includes a great story and a great story teller."The Water of Life" has it all, love, tests and trials, devotion, greed, and betrayal. It gives us, mother and son, lots to talk about. I recommend this book heartily.

Classic story with great illustrations

Misplaced this beloved book and was so happy to find another copy! My son and I enjoyed reading this book again, and, again, when he was young.

Without hesitation I can assure you that "The Water of Life" is one of the most beautiful and intricate fairytales and picture books I have ever come across in my life. If you are a folk-lore scholar, a lover of beautiful illustrations, or a parent who believes that children are capable of absorbing the deeper side of fairytales rather than brainlessly watching the sugary-sweet rubbish that the T.V. spoonfeeds them today, then here is the picture book for you. Retold by Barbara Rogasky and illustrated by the fantastic Trina Schart Hyman, this story is a perfect blending of art and literature, and will stay with you for a very long time.Don't believe me? Well, when I was no more than five years old my father got this book out of the library, but nine years later, all I could remember was a certain illustration that depicted the prince escaping from the enchanted courtyard. It was such a narrow escape as the gates closed on him, that his heel was torn off. This picture and the narrative stayed with me all those years, till I picked up another Trina Schart Hyman book, whose style of illustrations seemed vaugely familiar... After some typing on the public library's search engine "The Water of Life" was refound, and I stood in the library parking lot staring in amazement at the illustration that had stayed in my head for over nine years.Well enough reminising, I'll get to the plot of the story. It is based on the Brother Grimm story, but unlike other retellings of their tales which "shear" certain components of their narratives, Barbara Rogasky keeps in all the details and subquests that make the story so intricate. If you've ever read Brothers Grimm you'll know that the pretty little stories you usually see nowadays are very unlike their original counterparts. Often the Grimm Brothers would go off into tangents in their storytellings, adding unexplained or irrelevent people and events, which made them slightly confusing, but all the more colourful and fascinating. "The Water of Life" tells the story of three brothers whose father was very ill. After the two eldest brothers go, are rude to a small dwarf traveller and therefore trapped in a ravine between two mountains, the youngest son rides out to find the Water of Life and cure his father. He is not so coarse to the dwarf and so gathers some useful advice: that the Water is held in the fountain of a courtyard in an enchanted castle, guarded by iron gates and fierce lions. The Prince enters this place and there meets a beautiful Princess. You guessed it, it's love at first sight, and the Prince gathers the Water for his father, promising that he'll return to wed the Princess in a year's time. But his treacherous brothers have other plans - to have their brother destroyed and claim the Princess for themselves.It has all the components of a traditional fairytale: an ill king, three feuding brothers, a castle under a spell, a dwarfin companion and a beautiful princess, but here appear like brand new under Barbara Rogersky's working of the mysterious narrative. There are passages of intrigue and detail galore: the table of enchanted princes, the youngest son's travels with the magic bread and sword, the huntsman sent to kill him, and the wise Princess's own plan to secure her true love. Yet despite the darker tones of the tale, the morale shines through: that of honesty, love and truth always coming through in the end.And then of course, there's Trina Schart Hyman's illustrations. They evoke a beautiful and deep medieval/fairytale world, and perfectly echo the story, as well as creating an extra depth of their own. Long after the dwarf disappears from the narrative, he features in the illustrations, peeking from behind trees and watching the action from high bluffs. Likewise, the lions that guard the gates of the castle appear in the narrative only as "watch-dogs", but continue to appear at the Princess's side like overgrown house cats. There are stories within stories, as the tapestries in the king's bed chamber seem to tell an unknown but fascinating woodland tale, and there is no picture more intriging than the table of enchanted princes: one with butterfly wings, one with stag's horns, one with a unicorn horn, another with a bird's head... Likewise, the sight of the two elder brothers wedged between two mountains on horseback is comic, claustrophobic, inventive and completely realistic. Finally, everyone may groan at the "love at first sight" passage, but Hyman's incredible details create love and adoration between two figures that *make* you believe in it. Her details and use of colour are perfection, and out of all her works, "The Water of Life" is one of the best.Children are some of the most underestimated creatures in the world, and they deserve to have this wonderful story read to them. This book is extraordinary in every way! The retelling of the story is superb in detail and pacing; the illustrations (by a now-favorite illustrator Trina Schart Hyman) are immaculate. I actually got this book simply on the strength of Ms. Hyman's recommendation; which is to say, if she chose to illustrate it, that's good enough for me. She has very high standards for her authors! And this book did not disappoint. Barbara Rogasky's writing is precise, beautiful, and rings true. I cannot recommend this one highly enough for your first grader. It will remain a favorite for many years to come.

I am a huge fan to Trina Schart Hyman and these illustrations are excellent and lovely. Full of her usual detail. The story is really nice too. It is a well retold version of the story.

I would have titled this book the other way around, i.e. "The Unified Process and UML2", as it literally maps the UML building blocks to the UP core workflows: Requirements, Analysis, Design, Implementation and Test.The book starts with an introductory Part 1 in which the authors provide short summaries of UML and UP. Then, follow 4 parts of several chapters each, that cover the first four UP core workflows in the order listed above. Last part, Part 6, titled Supplementary Material, includes an introduction to OCL (Object Constraint Language).The coverage of the UP core workflows goes well beyond the simple mapping of building blocks, as the authors provide step-by-step, comprehensive guidance on how the fulfill the workflow's objectives through UML. Options are discussed, pitfalls addressed.UML syntax/notation and OO concepts are reminded in the book as necessary, but this is neither an UML nor an OO tutorial. Basic knowledge of both is a prerequisite. I read this book right after the UML User Guide.What I liked most is the clear, direct, accessible language this book is written in and the comprehensive coverage of UP through UML it provides. I also liked the "What we have learned" section that summarizes each chapter and the introduction to OCL.What I found to be lacking, however, is the coverage of the last UP core flow listed above: Test. Surprisingly, the book stops at Implementation. Knowing the importance of testing as a configuration controlled set of tasks usually divided into Unit, Integration and Validation Tests and taking into account the test software and stubs created for such purpose - not part of the application -, I believe this workflow should have been addressed, at least, with regard to versioning, test case management and test software/stubs interfacing with the components of the actual application.I would also recommend the authors to drop the Book Roadmap and Chapter Roadmaps they provide at the beginning of the book and of each chapter in form of UML Activity Diagrams. This book is not a reference manual. It deserves linear reading, from the beginning to the end, at the reader's own variable pace depending on the comfort he/she experiences going through the various chapters and sections that make it up.Overall, this is a very good book that I can recommend.

I have come across many books so I could learn how to understand UML and UP. But this one book is really giving me the necessary knowledge to begin with UML and a methodology to drive a development process. I just love it.

good for for learning about UML. I bought because I had to for a class in the University, but didn't see it all. I had a bad teacher, but with a good one, or even learning by yourself, its a good book to learn the UML ways.

Learned a great deal from this. Most development or development process texts are torture to read, to be sure, but was actually able to glean quite a bit from this text...

I used this in my undergrad degree. It is one of few books that I kept from my undergrad and still gets frequent use. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to learn UML.

These short pieces accomplish several goals. First they are excellent for developing nuanced playing. Second they provide experience in all the major and minor keys. Third, they do this using early intermediate skill level. The size of chords are very manageable for small hands (Although octaves are used, dense and tiring textures are not employed.), yet the sounds evoked are satisfying for all age levels.

I love using this book for my intermediate students before introducing them to Chopin, Schumann, and Schubert works. Gillock's beautiful melodies do a nice job of mimicking the romantic style. He also sequenced the 24 preludes in key order, so the systematic key signature order can also be a good teaching tool.

Very nice pieces for the intermediate player. They are difficult enough to be challenging, but not overly difficult. Each piece is short, only 1 or 2 pages, which I like. Beautiful pieces. I love almost all of them.

I bought this book for a student who has a very unique taste in repertoire. Though this book is titled "in Romantic style"- I would classify it more as 20th/21st century. The songs are unique in style and theme. It's also a great aide for helping the intermediate student learn key signatures. Some of the songs are quite challenging but are balanced out by their brevity. None of them are too long.

William Gillock is a heckava composer. Really interesting original pieces related to nature and crickets..the titles reveal the inspiration. The only tricky thing is as the book gets towards the end everything and his cousin is flat so it may be best to play the first half one day and then spend two separate days on each subsequent set of six

I have enjoyed playing through these songs. The melodies are so beautiful that its sad they are so short!

This is a wonderful set of pieces by a great composer. The pieces are short, but use techniques and styles of various Romantic composers. A great introduction to the style!

One of the best teaching collections out there.

I usually get two guide books for every trip I take, Lonely Planet and DK (recently I started to try out Fodor's. I don't think I like it because its layout or format is kind of confusing. Maybe I'm not used to it yet). Compared to DK, LP is much more detailed in my opinion, but DK offers more photos. I felt compelled to write a review because I found DK is getting harder and harder to read due to its extremely small font, especially the description next to a photo or illustration). Maybe I'm getting old and need reading glasses (in fact my husband said he couldn't read anything on DK, lol). After reading it for a while, my eyes just start to hurt and I don't feel like reading it anymore. I don't know why the publisher make the font so small. I would imagine older people would have a hard time reading it. BTW, I'm 41-year-young :)

I really like eyewitness travel guides. I got the same book when I went to Rome 15 years ago. I am using it again on this trip. One thing I did notice, that in 15 years my eyesight has declined. And it's very difficult to read the small print. Oh well, maybe one of my younger travel companions will be able to read it for us. Hey, Eyewitness! If you read this, please give us Kindle versions. Makes it much easier to travel with your guides. That way we don't have to lug around these heavy (1.5lb) books. Then I could also adjust the text size. (This is why this guide loses 1 star in my review)

Great Pictures. Information seemed dated.Large heavy book. Better information available in the Fodors book which is a pound less. The pictures are beautiful and this would make a good coffee table or bookcase book, but not a good book to travel with. I couldn't find operating hours quickly for attractions. It annoyed me that I could not find the info in a logical place.

The indexes are so inadequate that the book is only minimally useful. Why on earth is it too difficult to do them well? I am required to search and look for cross indices and find after standing on the street looking for references to what I am looking for and finally then find only the most minimal information on what I am looking at? I found the guides far more frustrating than useful. I would not buy these guides again when I travel.

This was so handy and easy to use. Love the way the book is organised by areas of the cities. Really liked the foldout map with the color-coded walking only streets. The book fit easily into my purse. The travel tips in the back, specific to Budapest were spot on and very helpful. Having the book added a lot of confidence for us navigating a big city on our own. Will most definitely be buying similar Top 10 books for other travel destinations.

I have been using this DK rome book for the last 15 years, so I know all the versions. This 2019 is a complete revamp. I suggest the 2018 version. The changes are: no more glossy pages (soft matte paper is used); no restaurant section in the back (they are interspersed on every page); elimination of almost 50 pages of history; a language section that is hilariously small print (I put on glasses to see it and still could not). In short, the changes to this book make it rather ordinary, and even hard to use. Even an image of the Pantheon mislabels where Raphael's tomb is. As someone who ordered this book annually, I can just say that the beauty, style, and colorfulness of this edition has been destroyed, and I urge all buyers to think twice before purchasing the 2019 version. I can't imagine going to Rome without some introductory history, and the editor of this new version must have been literally out to lunch when approving the new version.

Dorling Kindersley Eyewitness Travel are my favorite series of travel guides. DK produces the most detailed and beautiful photographic guides. I have one for every country or city I’ve visited since first discovering them 18 years ago while living in the UK. I still buy the books for trip planning (and the gorgeous visuals), but now I also purchase and download the Kindle version of their 'Lists of 10 Top' guides for the specific location to lighten my luggage load.

COMPLETELY outdated. I looked up a few things online for further information and of the handful I checked, all but one were closed -- and had closed years ago.

This book covers a whole lot more than just excel....great purchase!

This book covers a lot of ground and is big enough that I found the size of it a little daunting. I'm in construction and just starting to need to use Excel for the first time except maybe a few times when I was younger. I'm learning a lot from the book but I thought it would cover the very basics in a little more visual and easier-to-process way than it does, for me at least. Even book one of the basics seemed a little overly complicated and wordy to me. That said, it definitely packs a lot of information into the book and I'll be able to get through it eventually.

Where was this book when I was in graduate school struggling to use Excel? The sheer volume of information in this book (for me) makes it a definitive guide to Excel. I used Excel for statistics in grad school and I use Excel every semester in teaching as I use it to calculate my grades for my students and in other forms of online reports that I need regarding assessment and evaluation. However, let me just make it clear that I find Excel hard to understand in terms of getting formulas right and thus getting calculations and reports right. I always need help with it and help is not always available. I probably would use Excel more if I could look things up and have it explained to me in a simple and clear way and that is what I think this book does. Don't get me wrong, the sheer volume of this book is a bit intimidating to me, but I would rather have a comprehensive guide like this that to not be able to find answers (and I have bought other guides and realized I still did not have my answers). I really feel (from the limited use I have from this enormous tomb), that if this book does not have it, then you probably don't really need to know that. I have relied on other "dummies" books or similar ones (as there are all sorts of these types of books for all sorts of subjects including nursing, from nursing publishers, and is content which I teach), and find that they are all pretty good guides (some better than others of course). This series has been around a long time but this is the first one that I know of that has such a huge volume of information for the reader. My APA manual is dog-eared, and honestly, if this manual becomes dog-eared over time I will be a happy camper (and right now, I think it is destined toward a lot of use).

Building Resilience to Trauma is a wonderful and useful book. I have seen how learning and using the Nine Skills has had a profound impact on people suffering from trauma and emotional dis-regulation. It is very helpful that Miller-Karas gives so many examples - they really highlight the concepts being discussed and bring trauma treatment to life. The idea of beginning with the end of the trauma story - where there is a sense of survival and possibly help that came - before getting into the trauma narrative makes so much sense. Learning about the neurobiology was very informative. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in or suffering from trauma and emotional overwhelm. It is a great tool for parents to use - helping regulate themselves before interactions with their kids so they are coming from their most resilient place. Children who learn these self-regulation skills will be better able handle adversity and stress.
