if you paddle the state's waterways, this book is a must-have. it does not cover quite as many boat landings as the other SC paddling book, but what it does cover, it goes into much more detail. And it also has details about a few of the state's lakes.
Very good resource for planning a river trip in SC. I own two different padding guides about SC river trips and this is the best of the two.

If you're looking for an easy to follow guide to some of the flatwater sections of South Carolina rivers, this is the book to get. Each river description gives an ideal section for novice kayakers and canoe enthusiasts to paddle with great attention to detail. Rapids and shoals are listed, complete with best lines to go down, or which side is best to take for islands in the rivers. Additionally, there are driving directions to all the put in and take out locations, which is very handy if you're not familiar with the area. Johnny Molloy does a great job listing additional river and historical facts about each area that are fun to read up on.This is not a complete river guide, though. Mr Molloy has picked out ideal sections and those are the only sections of the rivers listed. While that takes a lot of the confusion as to which section a paddler might want to travel, it also limits you to that section alone in the guide book. None the less, this is a great book to use in order to get out and see some of the best sections of South Carolina's rivers. I highly recommend it.
This beautifully written guide is chock full of practical information, new ideas for places to paddle, sidebars with interesting bits of history and hiking information, and photos. It also offers advice for beginning paddlers on buying boats and gear. A must-have for SC paddlers and those visiting the state.
