My sons have two of the coloring books in this line; they are 6 and 8 and completely Minecraft obsessed. These books contain basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as more advanced math problems. They will work on coloring these "pixelated" pictures for HOURS. My daughter said:It was good. Chi Sweet Home Part 1 was a little bit better. For people who don't know the story, it is about a cat named Chi and she moves to a new house with the same family. She discovers new smells and she makes new friend. I don't recommend this book to kids younger than around 7 or 8. You could read it at 6, but concepts and plot might be a little too complicated. If you get this book, make sure to read the back and look at the little map near the end. Have fun and enjoy the story.

We are big fans of Chi's Sweet Home in our house. It is manga in the 'slice of life' category. If you've ever had a cat, this is a must have. It is a fun read for kids and adults alike. We liked this series so much, we named our new kitten Chi (they have similar markings).This is feel-good reading that can be enjoyed by everyone.

My 6 year old granddaughter found one of these books in the library and is in love with them, so I got her both 1 and 2 for Christmas. These are large format very well put together books. Excellent translations.

The author has a wonderful way of detailing the life of a once lost kitten and how she relates to her humans and the rest of the world. Part II is just as delightful to read as the first part.

My 8-year-old and I read the Chi books aloud together and adore her. Konami Kanata portrays the thought processes of cats in such a wonderful -- and what feels like accurate -- way. We can't wait for Part 3!

Was introduced to little Chi by chance at B&N Bookstore and HAD to get the rest of the books! If you do not have Ms. Kanata's kitten manga in your collection of cat books, you must get them, they are worth every penny!

Granddaughter has wanted this book for a year; I am sure that she will love it.

Love this series and I am an old adult!!! I am sure grandchildren would enjoy Chi's escapades.

I got this book for a single reason: to speed up my sermon preparation process. I found I was getting bogged down at several consistent places in my study: what is the passage about, what is the big idea, and why does God want the congregation to hear this? "Sermon Crunch" offered a series of questions that have helped me avoid bogging down.I got this book in the hopes reading it would cut down on time spent stuck in the sermon preparation process. It did.

This is a great book for new pastors. I really wish I had this book when I started pastoring. It is full of practical things a pastor can do to make writing sermons easier.

not worth the price over promised in the write up

A quick read. Not much that is really new...but a good solid review. I already have a pretty structured system but it is always good to see other models.

Easy to get and came on time.

It is ironic, the very steps the book leads you in making and evaluating a sermon (even though excellent), could be the reason for burn-out that the book warns against. We need to heed the parable of the shower, and know that not all will get it, no matter how well refined your sermon is.

Very helpful and practical material for those who find themselves caught in the continual time crunch.

I am 60 years old and never held a banjo, much less play one, until my wife gave me one for Christmas 2013 . For that matter, I've never played any sort of instrument, other than plunk around with my brother's ancient guitar as a kid, which frustrated me and I quit. I can't read a single note of music. This book is amazing and was apparently written specifically for me. The book (and it seems the banjo world as a whole) uses "tablature" diagrams to show you where to hold each string for a note or chord, and does not use music notation. And, fantastic as it is....about 80% of bluegrass uses only three chords, one of which is "G", which is the "open" (unfretted) key that the banjo is tuned to , so that leaves two chords to learn. The book starts off with very simple tunes, the banjo equivalent of "chop sticks" and then adds "rolls", "pinches", "reverse rolls", "slides" and other tricks to add spice to the tune. The book comes with a CD that plays out each lesson and all the variations so you can get instant response....basically it tells you "this is what this lesson should sound like".....note by note....at a pace you can replicate....so you will know whether or not you are doing things right. Bottom line is I was able to play at the pace of the book within a day or two of practice....one tune at a time mind you. I'm on my sixth song....after one month....practicing about 30 minutes a day. I'm far from being any sort of musician, but this book has allowed me to realize the sort of satisfaction that always eluded me as a kid....I can't wait to pick up the banjo each day and push my abilities to the next level. I am really satisfied with this book and the gift that it has brought me.....I guess I'm becoming a musician of sorts....even my wife is excited about the results. I bought several "how to play" books after the banjo arrived, but all the others were too complicated for me....this one really "strikes a chord" in me....and I'll use this one until I've mastered all the tunes. If you're a complete ignoramus like me, you'll really like this book.

First off, I hate the title of this book. I hate any of the "For Dummies," "For Stupidheads," "For Less than Average Intelligence," titles, (just the titles, the content might be awesome). I suppose an Ignoramus isn't that bad. It's really just suggesting I don't know rather than I'm an idiot. But I digress.The beauty of this book is the approach to learning the songs. Bluegrass banjo is cool because it's played as a melody maker that uses a set of common rolls to add to the texture and nuance of the song. Other books explain how to hold a banjo, how to tune it, how to play some rolls, then immediately begin teaching songs that are just out of reach for a beginners skill. This book decreases the learning curve immensely.Wayne's approach breaks the song down to it's bare bones melody notes. Focuses on that, and then amps up the complexity in a set of stages. The result are two fold. First you can play all of the songs. You may not be playing them in the most interesting or entertaining way... yet... but you're making music, playing your banjo and should be having a good time. Second is that you are learning how to create the song - not just mimic the notes. Each level of complexity is more of an encouragement for improvisation rather than just more notes. The results are awesome.

This book is amazing! The way wayne breaks down the songs into simple melodies, then proggressively adds more technique makes it so easy to learn and have fun doing it. Ive struggled for months with other books and have learned more, and enjoyed myself more, having waynes book for just a few days. My book came without a cd. I emailed wayne and he got right back to me and sent the files right over. His youtube videos also help out a ton. To any beginning banjo player you need this book!

This is a very good instructional book for the beginner self taught banjo. In just the first few pages I was given more information that in the first 50 of banjo for dummies. It comes with a CD and that makes it nice so you can hear what you are supposed to be playing and understand the tempo better. My banjo music is getting better and I can tell because there are less howling dogs and cats when I play now.

I have always loved the sound of a banjo and thought it high time I gave it a try. I have no experience with any stringed instrument although I play the trumpet (no help here). The reviews on this book were so excellent I actually bought this book before I bought a banjo to get an idea of its presentation. The book is clear, well written, and easy to follow. Well, now I have a banjo and am having the best of times. The first day I was playing the first song with the two-finger roll, yep, sounding pretty good and, yes, it was easy. Love this book and love my banjo.

Five minutes into reading this book I understood more than I have after years of watching videos. The language he uses is so easy to understand and it's simple in the best ways possible. The cd is easy to follow along with as well. I've already bragged to my sister at what a great buy this is. I'm eager to keep learning now that I have confidence that it's possible.

I recently purchased a Bajo and this book breaks everything you need to know to get you started. I highly recommend anyone to purchase this book. It comes with a instructional CD to help you along the way so that you have a better understanding. When you pick up your banjo pick this book up as well and you will be happy you did!

This is a great way to learn how to play the banjo. I took banjo lessons for 2 years making good progress, but got frustrated because I never heard the melody in the song. Since using this book, I now enjoy playing the banjo and can actually heard and play the melody. The book is easy to follow and it has helped me improve my timing too using the DVD to play along with. I plan on buying other books from Wayne Erbsen.

good little book for kindergarteners

This is another great teeth brushing book for my boys (along with Clarabella's Teeth)

Loved the story and especially the illustrations-magical for my kids!

Cute book and my granddaughter loves it and we're hoping it'll help her brush her teeth more cooperatively. Book came in condition and in a timely manner as promised.

Too wordy for toddlers. Lost interest in story but thankfully like to brush teeth.

I hate this book. It is not a very smooth read. My son loves the illustrations so I make up my own story if he insists on the "moose book". I bought it based on the other reviews but I don't enjoy reading it at all.

My father bought this book for my son down in Brown County IN. My son is 3 years old and just loves this book. The story is wonderful and the pictures are outstanding. This book actully motivates my son to brush his teeth. It is a wonderful book. We also have "Have You Ever Seen a Moose Taking A Bath?" I am not one to write a review but I belive that people should know about this book.

The Ethical Life was required reading for Drexel's Philosophy 251. It is a composition of several works, which are extremely interesting and beneficial to general life. I would highly recommend reading it on your own accord. I personally read the sections that my course didn't cover because it was easy to read and well compiled. If you purchase this book, you won't regret reading it and the information you learn may make you a better, calmer, and more centered individual.

There are a lot of controversial topics, composed as short essays, addressed in this book. It provides a lot of perspective and can strengthen your arguments for supporting whichever side of the argument you believe.

Was a boring book, but it was for a boring class (in my opinion) the best part was about how it was so much cheaper on amazon than in the book store at the school.
