Vinny, however, is in deep fecal matter, owing too much money to the very scary guys who have kidnapped him. Stephanie, office manager Connie, and Lula, plus-sized and focused (if not on the job at hand), manage to spring Vinny (more than once) and find a lot of money to pay what he owes. Along the way, they facilitate a cow stampede and an alligator escape; are assisted by a bunch of Hobbit con-goers; and find their office going up quite thoroughly in flames. Stephanie wrecks the usual car and ping-pongs between the hot and dangerous Ranger and the hot and domestic Morelli. Ranger says the “love” word to Stephanie, but it is Morelli at the end, offering her a pink, lacy thong. In the first few pages, Evanovich both catches readers up on the hilarious and cockeyed history of the preceding 15 books and gives fans a little more of everything they want, including the return of beloved stoner Mooner. in this installment of the Stephanie Plum series, she has inherited her Uncle Pip's lucky bottle and this may not be her good luck charm as she may soon be unemployed. Cousin Vinnie has run up a huge debt with his bookie, who in turn is heavily indebted to a mobster. When Vinnie disappears the ransom is the huge sum, with interest. To save her job, and the business, Stephanie, Lula, and Connie must raise the money while trying to track down where Vinnie is held to free him while they try to raise the huge sum of money. Vinnie's rich father in law is no help as Vinnie's wife threw him out just before he was kidnapped. The usual plot lines include demolished cars and Ranger saves. Still a five star story

I am reading/rereading this series & to this point, this is the best & most interesting book of all.Tho I am sure that each book could be read as a stand alone novel, why would anyone WANT to do thaaat?Knowing each character a little bit better - as each story passes along, the enjoyment magnifies.Even if one has to purposefully ignore the standard ploys, such as the heroine "requiring" 2 boyfriends who cannot be chosen between ... etc, this series is STILL an enjoyable series of stories, which have few equals.My rules are: Interests me, Avoids in-ur-face violence or sex, Makes me smile or laugh sometimes ... probably other stuff that will come to me later😊

Stephanie Plum is a bond enforcement agent, working for her cousin Vinnie. She is not the best bounty hunter but because of her tenacity and just plain stubbornness, she always seems to track her skips down and eventually apprehends them. Which is pretty good considering she typically does not have her gun with her, and even if she did it most likely wouldn't have bullets in it. She is constantly losing her cuffs, forgets to charge her stun gun every night and caries around extra hold hair spray in lieu of pepper spray.With this book, her skips included a man wanted for polygamy, a toilet paper bandit, and a drug dealer with a pet alligator name Mr. Jingles. Her biggest challenge is to rescue her cousin Vinnie from the mob with the help of Lula (who was at one time a prostitute) and Connie (office manager). If you like stories with 6 ft alligators, a stampede of cattle running through the streets of Trenton and the thought of hobbits crusading to the rescue, then I recommend this book it is very entertaining and has some hilarious moments with laughter.Based on the previous series with the Stephanie Plum character, the plot included Lula too much and not enough of Ranger the ex-military mentor and the homicide cop boyfriend Joe Morelli. It also could have included more of the crazy character grandma Muzar.

Stehanie's boss Vinnie is kidnapped by Bobby Sunflower who wants a million dollars to set him free. His wife does not care and his family does not want to pay to get Vinnie back. Stephanie, Connie and Lula do not have that kind of money, but they will do anything in their power to set their boss free and keep their jobs.I am always entertained by Stephanie Plum's books but this one did not feel as entertaining. I liked the plot, Vinnie is tossed around and the continuity seems fine, but I did not find myself laughing at the situations. I like that Connie is playing a bigger part in the book and that they act more as a team. But it was not as fun and I mostly read these because they make me laugh, hence the three stars.

Wow, that's a long summary! I understand that there are a lot of people who were disappointed with Sizzling Sixteen. You cannot approach the Stephanie Plum series expecting the rules of the "real world" to apply. That's why these books are the perfect summer reads: they are light-hearted, funny, sometimes silly, and totally implausible. Implausible, you say? Yes! In what dimension can you: Eat everything you want and not gain weight Blow up/wreck/irreversibly damage multiple cars Have an ongoing sexual-tension filled flirtation with two unbearably sexy men and never have either one of them give you an ultimatum Be saved from danger by grown adults dressed up as hobbits Never load your gun but manage to get away unharmed every time you're taken hostage (at least one time per book) Distract an alligator with fried chicken...can you see how I could keep going with this?If anyone knows a place where things like this actually happen, sign me up---I want to live there. Especially if Ranger will be there too...Just One Gripe:The plot is kind of weak, as usual. This is overshadowed by the fact that the series is so funny.The Best Thing About This Book:I read the Stephanie Plum series for the humor. They are laugh-out-loud hilarious! I bust out laughing at least five times per book and Sizzling Sixteen did not disappoint in that respect. Grandma Mazur, Lula, Mooner, the Hobbits, all of it was awesome!

This is a useful follow-up to Hans Kmoch's masterpiece Pawn Power in Chess (Dover Chess). Hickl's book is targeted to the average amateur chess player with individual chapters focused on examples of play featuring the basic pawn structures - hanging pawns, isolated pawns, backward pawns, passed pawns, doubled pawns, weak squares and pawn chains. Also included are three chapters focused on pawn play featuring rooks, knights and bishops, respectively. If you want to improve your positional pawn play, this book will definitely prove helpful.

This book is a must for a club chess player. Right before every strategy book. It explains in a clear way the importance of pawn structure and how they define most aspects of the strategy.

Great book! Since the classical "The pawn power" by Hans Kmoch I have almost never seen a book that is so well and concisevely written about the structures of pawns in chess. As Philidor said "the pawn is the soul of chess" and the author explains the structures in conjunction with the piece play. The book is a must.

Since I am only a 1500 rated player I found this book to be very helpful and easy to understand. Even more important is the book is specific to pawn formations and the author walks you through the more common structures that come up in club/tournament play.

Great book about pawn structure and how it can be applied to overall strategy. Themes include isolated pawns, backward pawns, hanging pawns, pawn chains, and how pieces and pawns work together. I believe this book should be a part of every chess player's library, it has been very helpful to me.

It is a good instructional book about pawn structures with commented games.

Okay, you’ve read the blurb and the various reviews. Should you buy the book? Yes, if you like a good story with hot sex scenes. Yes, if a badass, intriguing, and intelligent woman turns you on. No, if you just want a warm and fuzzy HEA where they only hold hands and walk off into the sunset. No, if a little non-vanilla is not your style.If you like a variety of books, action, and a dip into erotica and the unconventional, then buy this book. Also, ladies, it is LesFic. The Fic stands for fiction. Like the James Bond movies, it’s not real, but it is very entertaining. Delightfully so, I might add. Lastly, to those reviewers who look for tiny mistakes to pick a novel to pieces then massively slam the piece, sign up for several English classes where you can take out your frustrations.

Luce is a gangster. She isn't nice. She can be polite, and she's always in control (usually). But don't look for any tender moments of weepy introspection - she's not that kind of girl. Luce runs a division of the Japanese Yakuza in America and a Russian mobster is trespassing in her territory and trying to turf her out. Luce isn't afraid of conflict, but some on her crew have doubts that a woman can run the Yakuza and Luce has more to deal with than the Russians. She's got a traitor at her back.Brooke is an internationally acclaimed investigative reporter. But on her last trip to Europe she tangled with a bad set of Russian mobsters and her cameraman got killed right in front of her. She can't stop thinking about it. So Brooke gave up reporting on international politics and took a tame job with a domestic financial magazine. Her new assignment is Luce. Too bad the last time she ran into Luce she actually ran into her... with her car. That didn't go so well, and Brooke isn't eager to mess with another gangster.What follows is a story that's part gangster drama and part romance with erotic BDSM elements. I liked it all. I was every bit as invested in the intrigue of the Yakuza/Russian Mob conflict as I was in the tension (hot, very hot) between Luce and Brooke.I don't know how realistic the Yakuza plot was, but it read with verisimilitude and I was convinced. The BDSM elements... very well done. There's nothing extreme here, but so much tension was packed into each scene that the characters could have been playing checkers and I would have been turned on.This book isn't perfect. There are some flaws as pointed out by other reviewers. But none of those flaws detracted from my enjoyment of the story. I was enraptured by this book from start to finish and I eagerly look forward to the sequel.

I enjoy books where east meets west. The Japanese idea of family is so different to our western values. In this book you will see what sort of conflicts the main character has because there is the great difference between ideals. Luce is strong and independent and the first and only woman to head a Yakuza family.She has a reporter on her tail wanting to know all about her and after Brooke, the reporter, almost kills Luce in a motor vehicle incident there is some very heavy tension between the two. Brooke visits Luce in her own home for an interview and finds that Luce's all female staff, work in the nude. Things hot up for Brooke and it's not just Luce's staff that are doing it, as Brooke sees Luce enjoying some free time with another female before the interview even starts.This book has everything that you would want in its pages, hot characters, great story lines and sex. It was one of the few books I wanted to finish in a hurry just to see what the next page would hold.

Wow! Ali Vali's Derby Cain Casey is one of my favorite characters in the genre. Luce Potter definitely gives her standing a challenge. I was lucky enough to have discovered this after the other two books in the series were already out. So my appetite for more Luce Potter can be at least partially satisfied. I love books that explore the themes of a code of honor and duty and strong family tradition. It's interesting that those characteristics are held more intensely in crime circles than in other circles, at least in novels. But it challenges us to see the gray areas of life. Which is, if nothing else, interesting.

I may not say anything that haven't been said before but I really wanted to give out my opinion about this great book. The story was nicely written, the plot really good and exciting and it really draws you in. You will find yourself rooting for the bad guys in a fight against other bad guys and there will even get to a point you will forget one of the main characters is a yakuza and will just fall in love with her lolThe characters were nicely develop as were the scenes, you could see yourself there and just go with the whole thing. As for the BDSM aspect BRAVO the author was able to write credible, realistic, tasteful BDSM scenes that really got your blood pumping and all hot and bothered. Also she explained the concepts very nicely and was able to produce a very nice clean view of the lifestyle. Hell I didn't liked rope games before and I'm even thinking of learning lol the scenes were really sensual and full of taste.The only thing I would have liked to see more of was the relationship of the main characters develop a bit more outside of the sex area. Basically to know where they stand as a couple and all that, but other than that it was perfect.Sad thing is we need to wait a lot for a sequel, but if waiting means you won't rush and you will deliver a book of this great caliber then I'll happily wait.

This is the first story I've read by Isabella & it won't be the last! I love the badass Luce so much! She's the strong empowered female character I love to read about. Really interesting storyline! I can't wait to continue reading the Yakuza series!

Love the character of Luce. Bad girl or not you find yourself rooting for her. Good chemistry between Luce and Brooke. Now I have to go read American Yakuza 2 since the author left you hanging as to what will happen next.

This was a great relaunch to a favorite character. The voice acting and production quality is top notch. Brian Blessed captures Gotrek perfectly and makes me want to hear more of him. The stories are each their own but a larger part of the reintroduction to Gotrek. I highly recommend this if you're looking for that little bit of Old World flavor that Age of Sigmar is missing. If they can keep the same writing style in future books and audio books it will be a great time for all.

Seriously, these are one of those moments like Beatles becoming a super group, or Michael Jackson's Thriller vid that plays ever halloween and will play till the end of time... YES its that good,.. doubts... Ok lets add this up, shall we? David Guymer's writing, Gotrek, and Brian Blessed... !!!!! You shouldn't be just sitting there but flailing about like mad to get into this like your life depends on it. Epic, Awesome, I cried, I laughed, and even threw popcorn about like some wild animal ! People, if you gone this far you just plain gone to far and haven't read a thing I've written! Realmslayer is the start of something magical and as a fan you will just know... EPIC is how you will describe this!! Make sure you have your ale in hand manlings as this is gonna be one heck of a ride!!!

This is my first entry to gotrek series which I will support for the rest of my life. Howcome this amazing character doesn't have it's own movie/games! I couldn't stop myself from finishing the audio drama in one day including the bio about the creators.Pros:1) excellent voice acting (one of the main reasons I sold my soul to this series only the oldest North Pole travler and badass Mount Everest slayer is worthy of this role "Brian Blessed")2) excellent production and sound effects work from the skaven voices till demons and monsters, well done!!!3) excellent plot and story3) I really appreciate the refrences from the old world (hope to explore the old world more as well as age of sigmar)Cons:1) I finished the audio drama wanting more2) couldn't picture/imagine the realm/action/setting without lorebook,artwork,etcRecommendations :1) Create a lorebook with artworks so we can read and better imagine the story events/characters/action such as the witch hunter handbook, liber chaotica, the loathsome ramen, darkness rising, grudgelore and the empire at war (I don't care how much it costs I will buy it)3) bring felix!!!! Keep the dark elf lady and create a journey gang like Warhammer:vermintideAnd most importantly:Release the next audio drama ASAP!!!

The voice acting is top notch, Brian Blessed, predictably, is great as Gotrek. It does take a while to adjust to Gotrek's voice being somewhat higher than other dawi, but the distinction is welcome.The story is well written but a bit too rich with references to the old days. Even though Gotrek's reactions mirrored those of my own when I looked into AoS, and admittedly I was smiling thru the first few callbacks, the sheer amount of name droppery and the present characters was too into the lines of fanservice.Now this last bit going to get spoilery, be warned.The ending, well, it looked like a blatant attempt to AoSify Gotrek. As if this story said "here old world fans, the old Gotrek one last time, he is ours now" Heh, and if they think she can replace Felix, they are sorely mistaken. I hope that last bit was forced because of runtime constrictions, if not, being cast aside and forgotten is far from what Felix Jaeger deserves.

This is an awesome audio drama weaving the old world to the mortal realms. A must listen to any Age of Sigmar fan that used to play Warhammer Fantasy.

I’m an American living in Kunming, China and recently purchased the Insight Guides for China and Southeast Asia. For the actual nuts and bolts of traveling, (e.g. addresses and phone numbers of lodgings, plus certain travel and adventure services) guides such as Lonely Planet may be more suitable. However, for photos and encyclopedic information on the countries and places one wants to know more about, the Insight Guides can’t be beat. Their very name says it all. They are packed with information on the history, culture, sociopolitical situation, and sights found in each country. If you really want to know what makes each place truly unique (through history, anthropology, geography, etc) you could probably do no better than the Insight Guides.
